JUDGE’S SUDDEN END
FOUND DEAD IN BED (Reed. Oct. 31, 2.20 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 30. Mr. Justice Hawke, who opened the Essex Assizes at Chelmsford yesterday, was found dead in bed, this morning at his lodgings. Death is believed to have been due to heart failure. He had been a judge of the King’s Bench Division since 1928. He was 72 years of age. He was created a knight in 1928.
