N.Z.E.F. IN BRITAIN
COMMANDER APPOINTED (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day.
Lieutenant - Colonel. (temporary colonel) R. S. Park, of the Regiment of Royal New Zealand Artillery, has been appointed as officer commanding the United Kingdom sectibn of the 2nd N.Z.E.F.
A notice in last night’s Gazette announcing this states that this post will be in addition to'his appointment as liaison officer at the High Commissioner’s office, London.
As a result of regulations which have just been issued, New Zealand Expeditionary Force soldiers in Britain will not longer be under the command of the General Officer Commanding the Expeditionary Force, Major-General B. C. Freyberg, V.C., but will belong to a separate command. The regulations state that there shall be a section of the force to be known as the United Kingdom Section, New Zealand Expeditionary Force, its composition being determined from time to time by the Army Board in New Zealand.
