INCREASES IN PAY
AUSTRALIAN FORCES DECISION OF CABINET (Reed. Aug. 20, 10 a.m.) SYDNEY. Aug. 20. The Australian Prime Minister, Mr. R. G. Menzies, stated that the Federal Cabinet yesterday considered the pay of the Australian fighting forces and agreed that there should be some increases both in pay and allowances. The. details, he added, were not yet available. Pie appealed to the press to refrain from speculating on them. It is conservatively estimated that the increases in tne Australian Imperial Force pay will amount to £3,000,000 a year.
