EVIDENCE ON BILL COOK COUNTY ACTION j At the monthly meeting of the Cook | County Council to-day. a telegram was l received from the Minister of Public j Works, the Hon. 11. T. Armstrong, i" l reply to a request from the council ; urging a delay in the Soil Conservation j Bill so that it could be examined by ] local bodies concerned, stating that the i bill probably would be referred to a | select committee, to which interested i parties would have the opportunity of j making any representations they j desired. The chairman, Mr. W. G. Sherratt. j said that the bill was a very farreaching one, and, on his motion, the ! council agreed that members would j peruse the bill and formulate repre- i sentations to be submitted tc the select : committee. j
