AIRMAN INJURED
NIGHT FLYING CRASH MACHINE WRECKED (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Leading Aircraftman Jock Polkinghome, Wellington, was seriously injured when a light monoplane crashed during night-flying operations a; Woodbourne about 9.30 o’clock last night. Tlie accident occurred a mile northwest of the aerodrome. The pilot, who was flying solo, suffered a broken leg and arm and extensive abrasions. The machine was badly wrecked. Leading Aircraftman Polkinghorne was sent to hospital. The cause ot the crash is unknown. A court of inquiry will be held.
