FIGHTING POWER READY FOR ANY WAR BRITAIN AND AMERICA (Elec. Tel Copyright—United Preaa Aaan.) (Reed. Aug. 19, 9 a.m.) NEW YORK, Aug. 18. According to a message from the Tokio correspondent of the Associated Press of America, a Japanese diplomatic review stated: “There is danger of an explosion with the worst eventualities in the east, west, south and north simultaneously. Hostile nations are closing up their encirclement. These Powers are tightening their economic blockade and Japan’s existence is greatly threatened by theTr military position." The Japan Times Advertiser quotes a naval spokesman, Hideo Hiraide, as saying: “The Japanese Imperial Navy believes that Washington and London under-rate Japan’s fighting power and feel they can risk further anti-Japan-ese encirclement with impunity. However, Japan is not exhausted and not starving, but is strongly capable of great sacrifices and can and will withstand any . kind of war which Britain and America may want.”
