KOPUAWHARA NEWS
(Herald Correspondent.) The weekly five-hundred card evening held in the Koupawhara Y.M.C.A. on Saturday resulted in top scores for Mrs, J. Stewart and Mr. P. Heleon, the lucky number prize being won by Mr. R. Rangi. A light supper was served. Mr. Heleon handed his prize back to the committee for re-competition. The Kopuawhara Table Tennis Club’s weekly handicap tournament was won by Mrs. B. Brown, playing against Miss Joan Kireka in the finals of the ladies’ division, and by C- Burrows, who defeated H. Taylor in the men’s section. A dainty supper was dispensed by the ladies. Week-end visitors to Wairoa included Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Highet, Mr. and ivirs. P. C. Le Gros, Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Cairns, Mr. and Mrs. H. Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. P. Wairoa, and Messrs P. Heleon, J. H. Highet, W. Ritchie, N. Vlahovich Kaiangapipi), and T. Donovan. —Miss Betty Stewart, after spending a holiday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Stewart, has returned to Auckland.
