GIFTS FROM AMERICA
WORK OF RED CROSS LONDON, Aug. 9. Mrs. Dwight F. Davis, national director of the American Red Cross Volunteer Services, has arrived in London, having flown from America. She will be in London for several days to find out what further American women can do to help the people of Britain. Speaking of the work of her organisation, Mrs. Davis said that the American Red Cross had already sent 3,000,000 garments, and now every region in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland had adequatesupplies for an emergency. About 1,000,000 volunteers were working in the production department of her organisation alone.
