AIR MAIL WEIGHT

TAXING CAPACITY DECREASE NECESSARY (Per Press Association.) 65 i WELLINGTON, this day. The Postmaster-General, the Hon. P. C. Webb, stated yesterday that the volume of air mail letters for overseas destinations had increased to such an extent that the carrying capacity of the aircraft available was becoming seriously taxed. Therefore it was requested that users of the air mail services should restrict the weight of their letters. One way in which this could be done, the Minister suggested, was to use air mail writing paper and envelopes in place of ordinary writing paper. The position was so serious, Mr. Webb concluded, that con-espond-ents using the air mails were urged to give heed to this request.
