NUHAKA NEWS
(Herald Correspondent.) There was a good muster of farmers from Nuhaka, Morere, Mahia ana Whakaki at the Unity Hall on Tuesday night, when a two-hour talking film was presented by the Tairaiwhiti District Pig Council, in conjunction with the Department of Agriculture. The film included: “Reproduction o Mammals,” “Heredity,” “The Lifecycle of the Liver Fluke,” and "The Life-cycle of the Blow-fly.” Mr. A. A. West occupied the chair and introduced Mr. H. M. Peirson, extension officer in pig husbandry, Departmen of Agriculture, who operated the film, and Mr. I. Owtram, district supervisor. In addition to the screening of the pictures, Mr. Peirson gave a short commentary on each subject. At the conclusion Mr. Peirson was accorded a vote of thanks.
Privates T. Mahanga and R. Waerea are home on leave from camp.—Mrs. Parker has been visiting Misses F„ Halliwell and A. Norman. —Miss I. Tod has joined the nursing staff of the Waikato Hospital.—Mr. T. Connery, who has been manager of the Nuhaka Co-operative Dairy Company for the past 10 years, is leaving shortly to take up the position of manager in a much larger factory at Whakatane.
