PORTUGUESE RESCUE
BRITISH SURVIVORS TORPEDOED VESSELS (Reed. Aug. 14, 3 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 13. The Vichy news agency says that the Portuguese steamer Tarrafal picked up 110 survivors of two torpedoed British freighters, the Dongall and Silver Yew. The captain and two members of the crew of the Silver Yew were killed by an explosion. Those rescued included survivors picked up from British ships previously torpedoed.
