ROBBING THE DEAD
RUSSIAN FOOTWEAR ORDER TO GERMANS (Reed. Aug. 15, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 14. The Daily Herald’s Moscow correspondent says that a captured German High Command order tells German troops that in addition to robbing the dead, they should take footwear from Russian prisoners. The order is dated July 13 and is numbered 902/3. It adds: “In occupied regions it is necessary to seize all leather goods, especially marching footwear.”
