ANGLO-SOVIET STAND RELIEVING NERVOUSNESS (Reed. Aug. 15, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 13. The Ankai'a correspondent of The Times says that the British and Soviet declarations have caused great satisfaction in Turkish political circles and doubtless will have deep repercussions among the Turkish public. They happily are clear of the atmosphere of nervousness and restlessness resulting from Germany’s systematic campaign of open and veiled insinuations seeking to excite Turkish suspicion against Russia and casting doubt on Britain’s loyalty to Turkey.
