FERRYING BOMBERS
U.S. DEPARTURE POINTS (Reed. Aug. 13, 3 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Aug. 12. The United States Army Department plans to spend £1,374,500 on two huge air bases at Presque Isle and Houlton, Maine, as departure points for ferrying bombers to Britain.
