CIVILIAN GOVERNOR
POST IN BERMUDA (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 10 a.m. RUGBY, Aug. 12. His Majesty’s Government has decided to advise the King that in the present circumstances, it is preferable that the Governor of Bermuda should be a civilian. In order to facilitate the change, the present Governor, Lieutenant-General Sir Denis Bernard, has placed his resignation in the hands of His Majesty, who has accepted it.
