Indignation in Hastings
The reduction of a halfpenny a gallon in the price of benzine in Napier, with no similar action being taken in Hastings, has aroused' deep indignation in the latter town. It was stated by the authorities that the erection of bulk installation tanks at Napier has justified a reduction in the retail price within the Borough of Napier. An agitation for an adjustment of the price, because petrol was unloaded and stored in the province, was originated in Hastings some 18 months ago and, after considerable delay, an adjustment has been made, but only Napier will benefit.
