PRESBYTERIAN MEETING FINANCIAL POSITION The annual congregational meeting of the Presbyterian Church on the East Coast was held in Tokomaru Bay, with the moderator, the Rev. A. .T. 11. Dow. in the chair. There was a large attendance from most districts of the East j Coast. In the balance -beet presented to the meeting it was shown that all financial obligations had been met and that there was freedom from debt. The secretaries of the various ladies’ guilds presented their reports, which showed credit balances on all statements of accounts. The following managers were elected: To Araron, Nurse Banks: Tokomaru Bay. Messrs. Todd, Knox and Jackson. Me.alamos ITibbeit and McKay: Ruatoria, Messrs. Wilson and Brock. Mesdames Johnston and Smythe; Tolaga Bay, Messrs. Powell, McCulloch, Bradley, Irving and McIntosh. Mesdames Reeves. Reid and Graham. Mr. J. Brock was re-elected treasurer and secretary, and the Ruatoria managers were appointed the executive.

The moderator congratulated the congregations on the satisfactory position of the church and on the high state of efficiency in which the spiritual work was being carried out in such a wide and difficult charge. They all regretted that their minister, the Rev. A, Fotheringham, would be leaving at the end of the year, as he was now one year over his term of office.

Mr. James Todd, Tokomaru Bay, Mr. Brock, Ruatoria, and Mr. Bradley, Tolaga Bay, testified to the fine work their minister had accomplished and of the high esteem he was held in by all branches of the community, and hoped that a way would be found so that Mr. Fotheringham could remain with them for at least another year. The Tokomaru Bay ladies provided the supper.
