LIGHTING OFFENCE
Charged with an offence under the emergency lighting regulations. Frederick J. Newbery was fined £1 and costs by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in Auckland. Senior-Sergeant Joyce stated that although interviewed several times by wardens he had refused to screen a light in his home. Mr. Henry said the matter had been a difference of opinion. Defendant had believed'that his light was not giving as much glare as certain lights in the city. He had since expressed his regret and carried out - the ; 1 wardens’ instructions.
