TAXI DRIVER ROBBED

FARE WITH REVOLVER LOOTED 18/- ONLY (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Held up by an armed man, Mr. William McGee, a taxi driver, was robbed at Lyall Bay on Saturday night. Mr. McGee picked up a fare at the public library at 7.30 p.m. and, following instructions, went to Lyall Bay by a devious route. When the car stopped the man got out and produced a revolver and demanded the taxi driver’s money. The sum of 18s was handed over. The police are inquiring.
