CAR PLUNGES 150 FT.
TATAPOURI HILL SMASH
WOMAN BADLY INJURED
Severe injuries were suffered by Mrs. Donald Cameron, Russell street, in the early hours of this morning when the car she was driving on Tatapouri Hill crashed through the railings on the summit and plunged to the bottom of a papa valley, an almost sheer drop of 150 ft. Her husband is serving with the forces overseas.
Mrs. Cameron is now a patient in Chelsea Private Hospital, and is under observation while recovering from shock. Apart from a gash on the forehead, she is thought to have received severe injuries to her body. While working on his father’s station at Ivfakarori at 8 a.m. to-day Mr. Duncan, jun., saw the wrecked car, a light limousine, at the bottom of the valley. Upon making closer investigations he saw the plight of Mrs. Cameron, the only occupant, and immediately made arrangements for her removal to Gisborne. It is thought that she dozed off temporarily while negotiating the hill.
