GOAL-KICKING RECORD
BRIAN SCEATS’ EFFORT
B. F. Sceats, described in a sports report as “a slim left-footed Royal Military College full-back,” recently broke the A.C.T. Rugby Union’s goalkicking record for a single match with 10 goals in a game against a Royal Australian Air Force team at Duntroon Oval.
Sceats is a son of Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Sceats, Gisborne, and his father is the chairman of the Poverty Bay Rugby Union. The report states that it was R.M.C’s first appearance of the season, and the side impressed greatly. The final score was 55 points to nil in favour of R.M.C., Sceats contributing 22 of the points with eight conversions and two penalty goals.
