The fire which swept the Jersey City Erie railroad terminal,covering 35 acres on the waterfront, and destroying an abattoirs, two grain elevators, three piers, and 15 barges loaded with thousands of tons of wheat and hundreds of head of cattle destined for Britain, caused damage estimated at £6,250.000.
