ITALIAN ADMISSION
LOSS OF LINER (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 9 a.m. RUGBY, May 31. Evidence of the accuracy of British claims is strikingly proved by an Italian official communique in admitting the loss of the liner Conte RossO. In a communique relating to the exploits Of British submarines issued on May 27, the Admiralty states: “A large liner of about 18,000 tons has been hit by torpedoes and it is considered she was sunk.” According to Lloyds, the Conte Rosse was a vessel of 17,889 tons.
