DISOWNED BY NAZIS
ARRESTED LEADER IN U.S. BUND CAMP CLOSED (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. June 2, 11 a.m.) LONDON. June 1. A Berlin spokesman disowned Dr. Kurt Reith, who is described as a high-ranking Nazi Party member, who is held at Ellis Island pending deportation proceedings. He declared that Dr. Reith had not made contact with the Reich Government since his retirement from the German Foreign Office in 1934. A New York report says that the Ger-man-American Bund camp at Nordland, New Jersey, has been closed onthe order of the State Atotrney-Gen-eral. following a raid in winch the Sherrill’ arrested a man and seized literature dealing with Herr Hitler and Nazism.
