CENTENNIAL DRIVE
FORESHORE EXTENSION LINK WITH LYTTON ROAD A start was made on Wednesday with a further 61 chains of the Centennial Marine drive along the foreshore of the Waikanae Beach ana when the work in hand is complete the drive will connect with the extension of Lytton road just beyond the abattoirs. Since the work was put in hand good progress has been made with the levelling off of the sand dunes in the Dreliminary formation of th-2 route. 'The task would be made lighter with a fall of rain to bind the sand. , . The end of the new foreshore a'rive will be two miles from the Chief Post Office and is expected to open up many new picnic spots with views ot the Bav. No traffic will be allowed on the new formation until the work has been completed as cars would soon get into difficulties with the sand and delay the workmen.
