VISIT BY KING
NAVAL CADET SCHOOL TRAINING AS OFFICERS (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 9 a.m. RUGBY, May 30. Tiie King yesterday visited the only naval officers’ cadet training unit in Britain and saw young men from the lower decks training to become officers.
Known as H.M.S. King Alfred, it is situated in a building on the front of a south coast resort. Already over 6000 young men, including quotas from the Dominions, have passed through King Alfred and now are serving in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve as commissioned officers.
