CITY OF LONDON
POSSIBLE PURCHASE POST-WAR REBUILDING (Reed. May 31, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, May 30. The Corporation of the City of London may buy all the land on which the City stands, an area of 673 acres with a rateable value of £8,300,000, the richest square mile in the world. This vast scheme, one of many the corporation is considering as a solution of the enormous problems which are inevitable when post-war reconstruction is undertaken, is tantamount to the rebuilding after the Great Fire of ICG6.
