WELCOME-HOME DANCE (Herald Correspondent.) A large attendance was present at a dance held in the MakarakaMatawhero Hall organised by the patriotic committee towelcome home Sapper M. L. Hogan, who had been o.i active service in England and who had been repatriated on account of ill-health. Mr. W. Jonasen, when presenting Sapper Hogan with a handsome gift as a memento of the occasion, said that Sapper Hogan was the first volunteer to leave their district. Music for dancing was played by Miss L. Ruru's orchestra, and extras contributed by Misses O. Baty, Aldridge and Swinton, while the duties of M.C. were carried out by Mr. Jonasen. The capable committee which attended to the supper arrangements comprised: Mesdathcs W. Jonasen, H. Lange, A. Lange, J. Parker, E. Moore, L. Eade, W. Livingston, D. Weastall, C. G. Ancell, and J. J. Rogers. It was announced during the evening that there would be a dance on March 6 in honour of soldiers home on leave.
