CONSCRIPTION IMPOSED (Reed. March 1, 10.20 a.m.) MALTA, Feb. 28. The Governor of Malta, Major-Gen-eral, W. E. S. Dobbie, In announcing the introduction of conscription, declared that conscription was necessary to enable him to carry out his responsibility to the Empire and to the island. AIR RAID ABORTIVE (Reed. March 1, noon.) LONDON, Feb. 28. A communique issued by Royal Air Force headquarters in the Middle East
states: “Enemy aircraft attempted to raid Malta yesterday, but their was no damage or casualties.”
