COMPENSATION JUDGE
EXTENSION OF TERM (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The reappointment of Mr. Justice O'Regan to continue as Judge of the Compensation Court in the meantime was gazetted last night. The extension of Mr. Justice O’Regan’s term beyond the normal retiring age is the purpose of a regulation recently gazetted giving the Governor-General-in-Council power to make a temporary appointment of a Judge of the Compensation Court, the appointee to hold office for such period as may be limited in his commission. “The regulation merely means that Mr. Justice O’Regan’s term has been extended for two years,” the Minister of Labour, the Hon. P. C. Webb, said. “His term of office has been extended on account of the war, and because he has given satisfaction to everybody. The Government felt that he should be given the opportunity to continue his good work.”
