Fifty Tons of Glass Smashed
In a London factory which employs 3000 hands, about 50 tons of glass in windows was smashed by bombs and explosions in a raid by Nazi bombers, according to the London principal of the firm which controls the factory, who has arrived in Auckland. He said that at the time of the air raid most of the workers were in the canteen, otherwise the loss of life would have been more serious than it was.
