TROOPS OBJECT

CURRY IN HOT WEATHER SYDNEY, Oct. 19. About 200 of more than 2000 militia troops at Liverpool camp yesterday refused to eat a meal of curry provided for the midday meal, claiming that curry was an unsuitable ration for such hot weather. The men, who were members of the Army Service Corps, had tea and bread and butter, and it wps officially reported later in the afternoon that all of them were on parade. At Eastern Command headquarters it was stated that a few men had refused to eat curry and had protested to their officers. No man had refused duty. An authority on diet in tropical countries said that curry was a popular luncheon dish throughout the East.
