TENNIS IN MOTU
(Herald Correspondent.) A general meeting of members of the Motu Tennis Club was presided over by Mr. N. G. Nisbett. A discussion took place on the advisability of preparing No. 2 court for this season, and it was agreed unanimously that it should be done. The club has a considerable sum in hand and subscriptions have been raised this season. Some generous donations which have been received will greatly help to meet the cost. It is expected that work will commence almost immediately, and a contractor who has been engaged on bridge-building in Motu will do the concrete work. The opening day of the tennis club has been postponed until the second court is ready for play, but a tournament has been arranged for the coming week-end to raise funds for the sports queen in the soldiers’ rehabilitation carnival.
