NUN GAINS AMBITION
DIES 49 MINUTES LATER PITTSBURGH, Sept. 1. Sister Mary Constance of the Divine Providence Order, achieved her lifelong ambition of gaining a masters degree in arts only to die 49 minutes later. She did graduate work for 12 years while teaching, wrote her mastci s thesis despite illness and succumbed shortly after Duquesne University decreed her cherished degree at summer commencement. "She had been ill,” one of the sisters said of the 48-year-old nun. “She was to have an operation. But before the operation she wanted to type h er thesis. She spent a whole week doing it She had completed her work. She was so happy.” Death followed the operation by five days.
