CAROL AS LEADER
TOTALITARIAN PARTY ONLY LEGAL BODY APPEAL FOR UNITY (Reed. June 24, 9 a.m.) BUCHAREST, June 21 King Carol of Rumania yesterday issued a decree assuming the leadership of all political parties, which are amalgamating in a “United Party.” The party includes the Iron Guard and the National Peasant Party. The new party will be the only legal party throughout the country'. In a broadcast address King Carol said: “I have assumed the leadership of the United Party, thus achieving totalitarian union, which is so essential now becaus- nobody knows what the future holds for us. Rumanians must revise their entire mental attitude in support of the new regime.”
