DUAL CAPACITY
DR. MCMILLAN’S POSITION QUESTION FOR L.R.C. (For Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The question of whether the Minister of Marine. Dr. D. G. McMillan, should retain his seat, on the Dunedin City Council in view of his appointment to the Cabinet is one for decision by the Otago Labour Representation Committee. This was made clear by Dr. McMillan in reply to a question. If it wore decided that Dr. McMillan should resign from the council, a byelection would not be necessary. In view of the fact that it is now less than 12 months till the next local body elections are due to be held, the council would have the option of appointing someone to fill the vacancy.
