COALITION OPPOSED

LABOUR RULE UPHELD NAPIER RAILWAYMEN (Per Press Association.) HASTINGS, this day. The following-'resolution was passed at a meeting, of the Napier railway workshops employees yesterday: “That this mass meeting respectfully requests that -under no ■ circumstances should the Labour Government form a coalition Government with the Nationalists, who in 1935 were shown to have lost the confidence of theelectors as to administrative and practical ability in times of stress by the Labour Government being returned by a large majority and endorsed again in 1938. ‘‘ln view of the recent unfair attacks on individual members of the Government, we consider that no real' service can be rendered New Zealand by including members of the Nationalist Opposition in the Cabinet. We have every confidence in the Prime Minister, the Hon. P. Fraser, and Mr. Nash, the deputy-Prime Minister, the Hon. W. Nash, and all members of the Government to conduct the affairs of New Zealand during the war period and to fully co-operate with the United Kingdom Government and all Governments in the British commonwealth of nations to bring the War to a victorious conclusion.”
