CALL TO COLOURS
AUSTRALIAN MANHOOD MINISTER’S APPEAL (Reed. May 23, 9 a.m.) CANBERRA, May 22. The Minister for the Army, Mr. G. A. Street, to-night gave a national broadcast address, making a fervent appeal to Australian manhood to join the colours. * He emphasised the gravity of the situation in Europe and the fact that war was not won by machines but men, and exclaimed: “For, what good are machines without men.”
