MAORI BATTALION

140 FURTHER RECRUITS A further 140 recruits will join the Maori Battalion, now training at the showgrounds at Palmerston North, within the next few days. More thlm 100 of the number have already arrived. The new recruits will replace members of the battalion who have had to bo discharged from camp on medical grounds following X-ray examination, and those who have been sent to Trentham for training as part of the second reinforcements. To-morrow week the battalion will parade at Milson aerodrome to take part in a combined military and Air Force display. On the same day the men who enlisted from Hastings and the surrounding district will travel to that town to take part in the centennial celebrations.
