OPEN IN DAYLIGHT
TARANAKI ROUTES NO BREAD BY AIR TO-DAY (Per Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, this day. The road from New Plymouth to Awakino is open only in daylight and then only to experienced drivers. Between Awakino and Mokau temporary access is available. North of Mokau, the road is closed indefinitely. No deliveries of bread by air were possible this morning as a heavy mist covering all the northern portion of Taranaki province made visibility from the air nil. For the information of travellers it is pointed out that attempts to travel by road northwards from Awakino at present are futile and no plans to take a motor in this direction should be considered for several days.
