EXCHEQUER RETURNS ALL-ROUND INCREASES (lilec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 9 a.m. RUGBY, Jan. 10. The Exchequer returns show that the total ordinary revenue amounts to £577,035,401, compared with £518,047,998 at the corresponding date last year. The total expenditure, less selfbalancing items, was £894,571,148, compared with £726,715,426 at the corresponding date in 1939. The total floating debt outstanding at January 6 was £1,546,570,000 —a net increase of £626,260,000 since the beginning of the financial year—compared with £1,040,210,000 a year ago.
