“SHAMELESS TERMS”
HITLER’S PEACE “PUSH” AFRICAN PRESS REJECTION (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (British Official Wireles.- ) Reed. 9 a.m. RUGBY, Oct. 10. A further expression of the view that no peace should be made on Nazi Germany’s terms, comes from the Dominions. The Cape Times calls Germany’s proposals “shameless” and states: "So long as Herr Hitler or Hitlerism remain in power in Germany, peace negotiations are impossible.” This newspaper expresses complete confidence that the official allied reply will stamp the “impudent proposals clearly and conclusively for th« monstrous insincerities they are.” This attitude reflects general feeling amongst the English papers in South Africa.
