LABOUR PARTY DANCE (Herald Correspondent.) A dance organised 'by Messrs. Tumarae apd Kerekere was held in the Matawai Hall in aid of the Maori section of the Labour Party. Mrs. Bu through supplied the music, with the assistance of Messrs. Kerekere, jun., and Tumarae, jun. Mr. Dick Kerekere was M.C. A delightful supper was served. Many Maoris came from Waimana to attend this function, which was also attended by many of the European section of the community. Sunday School Party Mrs. C. V. Smith entertained her pupils at a jolly party in “The Vicarage” on Saturday night. Games were played by the little folk, and the elder ones played monopoly. The children present were Joy, Nancy and Adeline Robb, Marie and Dick Neverman, Joy and Maureen Thomas, Margaret, Maureen, Jack and Billy Petersen, Regine and Ross Fletcher, Dulcie and Dot ' Taylor, Helen and Peter Mortleman, Anne and Althea Bulst, Lyall Stewart, Jimmy and Claude David, Babette Davis. Adults entertained' were Miss Mortleman, Mesdames Bulst, Neverman. R. Robb, W. Mortleman, C. Petersen and 'N. Thomas. Miss R. Cox, Gisborne, has 'been, the ■most of Miss M. Calcott, Matawai.— Mrs. R. Mortleman, Pinkney station, is visiting Paeroa.
