OFFICER’S FUNERAL
COLONEL 0. R. SPRAGG LARGE ATTENDANCE (Sliecial to the Herald.) AUCKLAND, this day. The funeral cf Colonel C. R. Spragg took place yesterday. A long cortege went from his residence in Glcnsido crescent to Waikumete cemetery and services conducted by Archdeacon H, A. Hawkins at his home ancl at the graveside were very largely attended. Old comrades of the South African War and the Great War, of all arms, were represented in strength. There were also large detachments of men who had been fellow members cf the Territorial Forces iu. various units ancl of members of a number of bodies and clubs to which Colonel Spragg belonged. (Returned soldiers and members of the Legion of 'Frontiersmen formed a guard as the coffin, draped with a Union. Jack and bearing Colonel S.pragg’s sword, military hat and decorations, was carried from the house. Officers of the Waikato Mounted Rifles actcci as pallbearers.
