WELLINGTON, October 2 (P- A ->~ On the recommendation of. the national selectors, the executive committee of the New Zealand Rug y Union today approved the awarding of the Tom French Cup for the outstanding Maori footballer of / h ® sea ,“ son to the North Auckland, North Island, and New Zealand Maori All Black half-back, N. M. Paewai.
Nepia Plays Again When Poverty Bay met the pians in a Rugby football match at Gisborne on Saturday, the were G. Nepia, the famous Black, and his son, G. Nepia. Ihe senior member of the family, perhaps the best known of all New Zealand Rugby players, gave a fine exhibition of positional play and line-kicking, but he was successful with only one of five attempts to convert tries. The two Nepias were captains of their respective teams. Poverty Bay was beaten by 17 points to 11,
