N.Z. Health Stamp Target May Be Reached This Week
WELLINGTON, This Day (P.A.).— It now seems definite that the Health Stamp first days sales have exceeded £75,000. With returns from four disricts to come, the General Post Office, Wellington, had at noon been advised of £60,532 sales. From the four districts to send in returns, sales will be at the very least in excess of £15,000. To Dunedin goes the honour again of the best first day result. Their target was £6940 and they sold £9617, which is £986 in excess of last year’s first day figure. Other districts among those who advised returns and who achieved their targets are Gisborne, Greymouth, Palmerston North, Timaru and Wanganui. A General Post Office spokesman said: “The result is splendid. The Royal design has obviously captured public interest. If the sales keep up at this rate, the Dominion target of £lOO,OOO will very likely be reached this week.” ’
