Minister Urges Support For Girl Guides’ Appeal
WELLINGTON, This Day (P.A.).— The hope that the public would strongly support the ‘earning week’ which is being sponsored by the Girl Guides Association during the first week in October was expressed by the Minister for the Welfare of Women and Children, Mrs Hilda Ross this morning.
“The suggested duties which the guides might undertake—the minding of children, cleaning windows and general help in the home—would be useful and would merit payment: Such activities deserve to be encouraged and I am sure the public will appreciate the worth of the programme. By supporting this appeal a most worthy cause will be assisted,” said the Minister.
