Good Prices Paid For Southland Pacers

The five-year-old Josedale Grattan gelding, Scimitar, a winner' of fourraces in six starts in Southland this season, has been sold for 2000gns (£l5OO and £5OO contingencies). Scimitar was raced on lease by Mr A. Todd from his breeder, Mr W. T. Scott, Christchurch, and was trained at Mataura by D. Todd. Scimitar has gone into J. B. Pringle’s stables at Addington. Another Southland pacer to change hands is Alluck, who has been sold by Mr T. M. Grade, Invercargill, to W. J. Doyle, for £7OO and a further £3OO in contingencies. Harvest Tide, who was raced by his breeder, Mr M. G. Deegan, Winton, also changed hands recently at £lOOO, the purchaser being a Christchurch owner.
