Hauiti To Load General Cargo For Jackson’s Bay
A shipment of petrol and general cargo for Jackson’s Bay will leave Greymouth early next week ih the motor vessel Hauiti. The cargo includes stores and supplies for settlers in that area, and also a small consignment of fuel for the Greymouth fishing trawler Giorgina, which has been operating in South Westland waters recently. The Hauiti arrived at Greymouth early this morning. She was bound for Hokitika from Wellington, but when it was found that the port of Hokitika was closed, she was diverted to Greymouth to discharge her cargo of 100 tons of general goods. This will be railed in bulk to Hokitika.
The Hauiti’s cargo for Jackson’s Bay was consigned mainly from Hokitika and it will be railed to Greymouth for loading.
