LICENSING TRUST MAY BE VESTED IN CITY COUNCIL

INVERCARGILL, This Day (P.A.). A move to have the Invercargi Licensing Trust vested in the Invercargill City Council was made today by Cr M. A. Niederer when he lodged a notice of motion with the .town clerk, Mr W. F. Sturman. Cr Niederer’s letter said: In view of the possibility of the City Council losing direct representation on tne Invercargill Licensing Trust, should it become elective as suggested by Mr Ralph Hanan M.P., I hereby give notice that at the next ordinary meeting of the council to be held on Tuesday, June 20, I will move that ‘a meeting be arranged between the Invercargill City Council and the Invercargill Licensing Trust to discuss the desirability of approaching the Government to amend the Invercargill Licensing Trust Act so that the trust may be vested in the Invercargill City Council.’ ”
